Education & Diagnosis
Undescended testicle (cryptorchidism) is a testicle that hasn't moved into its proper position inside the scrotum. This is most commonly seen in babies born prematurely, and a vast majority of the times it correctly naturally within the first few months after birth. If the testicle continues not to descend, than surgery can be done to relocate the testicle into its proper position in the scrotum.
Testing & Treatment
An undescended testicle is most commonly corrected with surgery. Laparoscopically, the surgeon carefully manipulates the testicle into proper positioning in the scrotum and stitches it into place.
